Answers to common questions about our car with driver services in Guangzhou & Foshan.

About our service

Guangzhou Driver Network is a local team that arranges private cars with local Chinese drivers for visitors to Guangzhou and Foshan.
We mainly serve international buyers and business travelers who visit factories, wholesale markets and trade fairs, with English-speaking support on WhatsApp.

Most of our work is:

  • Factory and market visits in Guangzhou and Foshan
  • Day trips between Guangzhou and Foshan
  • Business days inside Guangzhou (meetings, offices, showrooms)
  • Airport transfers to and from Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport (CAN)

We are not a sightseeing tour company, but if you want to add some light sightseeing to your business trip, we can usually help arrange the transport.

Our main service areas are:

  • Guangzhou – city, markets and industrial zones
  • Foshan – furniture, lighting, building materials markets and factories

For other nearby cities (for example Zhongshan, Jiangmen, etc.), please tell us your plan and we will let you know if we can arrange it and what the price would be.

Drivers & communication

Most of our drivers are local Chinese drivers with limited English.
To keep communication smooth, for every booking we create a WhatsApp group including:

  • You (and your colleagues if needed)
  • Your driver
  • Our English-speaking customer service

You can write in English in the WhatsApp group. We help you pass instructions and information to the driver in Chinese.

Before and during the trip, you can always use the WhatsApp group to:

  • Share pick-up times and locations
  • Send factory or market addresses
  • Change the next stop or timing
  • Ask us to explain special requests to the driver

If you cannot use WhatsApp, please tell us in advance so we can discuss alternative options (for example, WeChat or phone calls).

Our standard service includes transport and basic communication support by phone / WhatsApp, not full-day interpretation on-site.
If you need a professional interpreter to accompany you inside factories and meetings, please let us know in advance and we can discuss availability and extra costs.

Pricing & payment

Prices depend on:

  • Service type (Guangzhou city day, Guangzhou–Foshan day trip, airport transfer, etc.)
  • Number of hours
  • Distance and number of stops
  • Vehicle type (sedan or MPV / minivan)

We show typical daily ranges on our Pricing page.
For an exact quote, please send us your dates, hotel and factory/market list, and we will confirm a clear price before you book.

Unless otherwise stated, our day rates generally include:

  • Private car and local driver for the agreed hours
  • Normal fuel use within the planned route
  • Basic parking at common locations (hotels, markets, etc.)

Some things may not be included, such as highway tolls for longer trips, special parking charges, and your own meals or tickets.
The inclusions for your booking will always be shown clearly in our quote.

Normally:

  • We ask for a small deposit (often around USD 50 per booking) by PayPal to confirm your reservation
  • The remaining balance is usually paid in RMB (Chinese Yuan) during your trip, by cash or local transfer, depending on what we agree in advance

We do not currently swipe international credit cards on-site.
However, many clients use their credit card through PayPal to pay the deposit. The balance is typically paid in RMB during the trip.

If you need a different arrangement (for example paying a larger amount by PayPal), please tell us before booking so we can discuss options and any extra fees.

Tipping is not mandatory in China, but many guests choose to give a small tip if they feel the driver has provided very good service.
The amount is completely up to you and is not included in our prices.

Booking, changes & cancellation

You can book by:

  • Sending us a WhatsApp message
  • Sending an email
  • Filling out our online request form

Please include:

  • Your travel dates
  • Hotel or pick-up location
  • Number of people and luggage
  • Factories and markets you want to visit
  • Which services you need (factory days, Foshan trips, airport transfers, etc.)

We will then suggest a plan and send you a quote. Once you pay the deposit, your booking is confirmed.

We recommend:

  • 1 week in advance for normal periods
  • Earlier for busy times such as Canton Fair or major holidays

Last-minute bookings may be possible, but availability is not guaranteed.

In general:

  • Cancel 7 days or more before your first service day → usually a refund of your deposit minus payment processing fees
  • Cancel 3–6 days before your first service day → usually partial refund of your deposit
  • Cancel less than 72 hours before your first service day → deposit is typically non-refundable

We recommend reading that page before confirming your booking.

Small changes are often possible, especially if you tell us early:

  • Changes more than 72 hours before the first service day are usually okay, depending on availability
  • Changes within 72 hours are subject to availability and may not always be possible
  • If changes increase the hours or distance significantly, we may need to update the price

During the day, simple changes (for example swapping the order of visits or changing lunch location) are usually fine as long as we stay within the agreed hours and general area.

Please send us a message in the WhatsApp group as soon as you know about the delay.

  • For arrival transfers, we will adjust the pick-up time as much as possible based on the new arrival time
  • For departure transfers, if the delay changes when you need to leave the hotel, we will try to rearrange your pick-up

In very large delays or cancellations, we will discuss options and any extra costs with you honestly.

Routes & service area

Yes. Many of our clients visit Foshan for furniture, lighting and building materials suppliers.
We can:

  • Start from your hotel in Guangzhou and spend the day in Foshan
  • Start and end in Foshan if you stay there

Just send us your addresses and we will suggest a realistic plan.

It depends on:

  • The distance between locations
  • How long you spend at each factory or market
  • Traffic on that day

As a very rough idea, many clients visit 2–4 main locations in one full day, but this can vary a lot.
When you send us your list, we will tell you if it’s reasonable and suggest adjustments if needed.

Sometimes clients want to:

  • Start in Guangzhou
  • Visit factories or markets
  • End the day in another city (for example Foshan, or vice versa)

This is often possible, but it is treated as a one-way trip with extra distance, and the price may be different from a normal round trip.
Please tell us your exact start and end points and we will quote accordingly.

Safety, vehicles & other

We usually arrange:

  • Sedans – comfortable for 1–2 passengers with light luggage
  • MPV / minivans – good for 3–4 passengers or when you have more luggage or samples

All vehicles are local, road-legal cars used for passenger transport. Tell us your group size and luggage and we will suggest the right type.

Yes. We work with legally registered local drivers and vehicles that carry the normal insurance required for passenger transport in China.
Please understand that coverage and procedures follow local regulations.

Child seats may be available on request, but they are not guaranteed and may involve an additional charge.
If you travel with young children, please tell us:

  • The number of children
  • Their approximate ages

We will let you know what we can arrange.

Our main service is transport with driver and basic trip support.

However, we can usually:

  • Share suggestions for areas to stay in Guangzhou / Foshan
  • Give simple tips on buying a local SIM card or using eSIM
  • Remind you to use official exchange channels or ATMs at reputable banks

We do not handle your money directly and do not operate as a travel agency.

If anything does not go as planned:

  • Please write to us immediately in the WhatsApp group
  • We will talk to the driver and try to fix the issue as quickly as possible
  • If necessary, we will discuss fair solutions with you after the trip

We appreciate it when clients tell us about problems during the trip, because it gives us a chance to correct them.
